Recruitment Principal / Lead – Energy and Technical Markets

Location: Whiteley
Employment type: Full-time, permanent
OTE: £200,000 including commission

As we continue to grow internationally, we are looking for an experienced Recruitment Principal / Lead to drive commercial growth across a specialist global market.

The opportunity

This is a senior, hands-on commercial recruitment role for someone who enjoys opening doors, developing strategic client relationships and converting market intelligence into profitable business.

You will own a specialist market, build a diverse client portfolio and deliver against individual Gross Profit and commercial targets. You will work closely with our Delivery, Marketing, and Sales Activation and Redeployment teams to convert opportunities into successful placements.

This is not a maintenance role built around an inherited client base. You will be expected to create opportunities, establish trusted partnerships and build a sustainable, high-performing market.

Key responsibilities

Open new client relationships through outbound business development, networking, social media, referrals and market intelligence.
Develop existing accounts by identifying new opportunities and increasing client spend.
Deliver individual Gross Profit, pipeline and commercial targets.
Build and manage a diverse client portfolio.
Convert marketing, referral and redeployment leads into qualified vacancies and placed revenue.
Produce detailed vacancy briefs and agree clear delivery expectations.
Partner with the Delivery Team throughout each recruitment assignment.
Review candidate shortlists and maintain high submission standards.
Maximise contractor extensions, redeployments and related client opportunities.
Build and maintain an active commercial pipeline through the PE Hub and CRM.
Become a recognised specialist within your assigned technical discipline.
Respond to client enquiries promptly and maintain clear communication throughout every recruitment process.
Maintain accurate, same-day records across clients, leads, vacancies and placements.
Strengthen your professional profile and the Performance Energy brand through credible market engagement.

What success looks like

Achieving individual Gross Profit and commercial KPIs.
Building a sustainable and diverse portfolio of clients.
Converting outbound activity and inbound leads into placed revenue.
Producing complete vacancy briefs and engaging the Delivery Team promptly.
Maintaining high-quality, responsive client service.
Developing long-term relationships that generate repeat business.
Maintaining reliable CRM data and commercial forecasts.
Becoming a recognised authority within your market.

Essential experience

Substantial experience in contract recruitment, business development or a 360 recruitment position.
A strong record of winning new clients through outbound business development.
Experience managing a client portfolio, commercial pipeline and individual revenue targets.
Evidence of achieving commercial targets in a KPI-driven environment.
Experience qualifying vacancies and working effectively with recruitment delivery teams.
Excellent commercial communication, negotiation and relationship-management skills.
Strong CRM discipline and accurate activity management.
The confidence to operate as a senior market specialist.

Desirable experience

Recruitment experience within energy, engineering or technical markets.
Experience managing contractor relationships.
Experience operating in SLA-driven recruitment environments.
Experience building a professional network and personal brand through LinkedIn and industry engagement.
Experience coaching colleagues or contributing to wider team performance.
