We are seeking a Payments Administrator to join our Regulatory Finance team on a 6-month fixed term contract. You'll play a vital role in supporting our client money functions, ensuring client and creditor funds are processed accurately and efficiently supporting both our clients and our mission to create a society free from problem debt.

What you'll be doing

As a Payments Administrator, you will support the day-to-day management of client and creditor funds, ensuring transactions are processed accurately and in line with regulatory requirements. You'll be responsible for handling receipts, disbursements, refunds and returned payments, investigating any exceptions and maintaining accurate records to ensure clients' money is managed appropriately and within FCA CASS expectations.

Working closely with colleagues across the charity, you'll help resolve payment-related queries, carry out Anti-Money Laundering and Source of Funds checks, and support a range of operational processes as part of a flexible and cross-skilled team. You'll take ownership of your work, identify and escalate risks where necessary, and contribute to delivering an efficient service that supports both our clients and the charity's wider mission.

(Our Payments Administrator is internally known as a Client Asset Management Associate)

About You

You are a detail-oriented and proactive individual who thrives in a structured environment and takes pride in delivering accurate, high-quality work. You have strong numerical skills, enjoy solving problems and are motivated by contributing to a team that delivers excellent service for clients.

Experience of working in a transactional, financial processing or administrative environment.
Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel, with a willingness to learn new systems and processes.
Strong numerical and data entry skills with excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to prioritise workloads, manage competing demands and work effectively to strict deadlines.
Excellent problem-solving skills, with the confidence to investigate issues using your initiative while exercising sound judgement and escalating risks where appropriate.
A positive, flexible and collaborative approach, with a commitment to continuous learning and adapting to change.
