Full job description

Overview

We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Transport Coordinator to oversee and optimise our logistics operations. This role involves managing transport schedules, coordinating with third-party logistics providers (3PL), and ensuring the smooth flow of goods within our operation. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, proficiency in transportation management systems, and a keen eye for analysis to improve efficiency. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals eager to develop their expertise in logistics and supply chain management within a dynamic environment.

Duties

Coordinate daily transportation activities, including scheduling deliveries and pickups using transportation management systems.
Liaise with 3PL providers, suppliers, and internal departments to ensure timely shipping and receiving of goods.
Analyse logistics data to identify areas for process improvement and cost reduction.
Manage shipping documentation, customs paperwork, and compliance requirements.
Communicate effectively with drivers, warehouse staff, and clients via phone etiquette to resolve issues promptly.
Maintain detailed records of all transportation activities, including delays, damages, or discrepancies.

Experience

Familiarity with vehicle route planning and optimisation.
Strong analysis skills to interpret data and recommend improvements.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with professional phone etiquette.
Proficiency in data entry, typing accuracy, and maintaining detailed records.
Previous experience in logistics or supply chain roles is preferred but not essential; training will be provided where necessary.
