Job Summary

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Commis Chef to join our vibrant culinary team. In this role, you will play a vital part in supporting the kitchen operations by preparing ingredients, assisting with cooking, and ensuring food safety standards are upheld. This is an exciting opportunity for someone eager to develop their culinary skills in a dynamic hospitality environment. The ideal candidate will bring enthusiasm, a strong work ethic, and a desire to learn and grow within the food production sector.

Responsibilities

Assist in food preparation by chopping, peeling, and portioning ingredients according to recipes and standards
Support the kitchen team in cooking dishes, ensuring consistency and quality in every plate served
Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, adhering strictly to food safety and hygiene regulations
Help with inventory management by checking stock levels and notifying supervisors of shortages or expired items
Follow all health and safety procedures to ensure a safe working environment for everyone in the kitchen
Collaborate with team members to ensure timely service during busy periods
Support supervising staff with training new team members and maintaining high standards of food production

Skills

Previous kitchen experience or culinary training is preferred but not essential; enthusiasm for learning is key
Strong understanding of food safety protocols and hygiene standards
Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Excellent teamwork and communication skills to coordinate effectively with colleagues
Basic food preparation skills including chopping, peeling, and portioning ingredients
Leadership qualities with potential supervisory experience or interest in developing team management skills
Knowledge of restaurant or hospitality operations is advantageous but not mandatory
