Take Ownership of the Daily Operation
NN Commercial Cleaning Ltd is looking for an experienced and highly organised Operations Planner & Scheduler to join our Northampton office and take ownership of the daily planning and coordination of our mobile window cleaning teams.
This is a key operational position.
You will be responsible for ensuring that the right teams are in the right locations, with the right workload, at the right time.
Our business operates recurring window cleaning rounds and field based cleaning services. Effective planning directly affects customer service, productivity, travel time, team performance and profitability.
We therefore need someone who understands scheduling as an operational responsibility, not simply an administrative task.
Relevant Experience Is Essential
This role requires demonstrable previous experience in operational planning, scheduling, route planning or the coordination of multiple field based teams.
Applicants must be able to demonstrate through their CV and interview that they have previously taken responsibility for scheduling people, jobs, routes or field operations.
Applications that do not clearly demonstrate relevant operational planning or scheduling experience will not be shortlisted.
Experience does not have to come specifically from window cleaning.
Relevant backgrounds may include facilities management, cleaning services, maintenance, engineering services, transport, logistics, field service operations or another business where mobile teams must be planned and coordinated efficiently.
What You Will Be Responsible For
You will take day to day ownership of operational scheduling and planning.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Planning daily and weekly workloads for window cleaning teams
- Allocating jobs and customer rounds to the appropriate teams
- Organising work geographically to reduce unnecessary travel and lost working time
- Managing recurring customer schedules and cleaning frequencies
- Using CleanerPlanner to organise rounds, jobs, worksheets and team workloads
- Reviewing upcoming work and preparing schedules in advance
- Replanning work when there are absences, cancellations, weather disruption, access problems or operational delays
- Reallocating jobs quickly when operational circumstances change
- Monitoring completed, missed and outstanding jobs
- Ensuring missed work is identified, rescheduled and followed through
- Coordinating closely with team leaders and field operatives
- Maintaining accurate customer, job and scheduling information
- Monitoring team capacity against the amount of work scheduled
- Identifying inefficient routes, gaps in schedules and unnecessary travel
- Supporting management with operational performance information
- Monitoring productivity and helping management identify areas for improvement
- Communicating daily plans clearly to the operational teams
- Helping ensure customers receive a reliable and consistent service
The successful candidate will be expected to take ownership of problems rather than simply pass them on.
CleanerPlanner
We use CleanerPlanner as an important part of our operational management.
Previous experience using CleanerPlanner would be a strong advantage.
However, candidates with substantial experience using other scheduling, route planning, field service or workforce management systems will also be considered.
You must be confident learning software quickly and using operational data to make practical scheduling decisions.
Essential Requirements
To be considered for this position, you must be able to demonstrate:
- Previous professional experience in operations planning, scheduling, route planning or field workforce coordination
- Experience allocating work across multiple employees or field teams
- Strong organisational and prioritisation skills
- The ability to manage a changing workload throughout the working day
- Strong problem solving and decision making ability
- The confidence to make operational decisions when plans change
- Strong attention to detail
- Good computer and administrative skills
- Confidence using scheduling software, CRM systems or similar operational platforms
- Clear and professional written and spoken English appropriate to the responsibilities of the role
- The ability to communicate effectively with field employees, management and customers
- The ability to remain organised under pressure
- A commercial mindset with an understanding that route efficiency, travel time and productivity affect business performance
Desirable Experience
The following would be advantageous:
- CleanerPlanner experience
- Window cleaning industry experience
- Commercial cleaning or facilities management experience
- Experience managing recurring service routes or rounds
- Experience coordinating mobile workers
- Knowledge of Northamptonshire and surrounding operating areas
- Experience analysing productivity or operational KPIs
The Person We Are Looking For
We are looking for someone who can look at a busy operational schedule and immediately start thinking:
Where should each team be?
Which jobs should be grouped together?
Is this route efficient?
Is one team overloaded while another has spare capacity?
What happens if somebody is absent?
Which jobs have been missed?
What needs to be moved?
Can we reduce unnecessary travel?
Can tomorrow’s operation be better planned than today’s?
If this is how you naturally approach operations, we want to hear from you.

- Office based role with regular working hours
