Full job description

We are looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to drive the growth of Dentaid's commercial services across the UK.

Working closely with the senior leadership team, you will identify, develop and secure new NHS and public sector opportunities that expand Dentaid's commercial portfolio. Building on successful models, such as our Hampshire and Isle of Wight NHS contract, you will proactively engage with commissioners and strategic partners to secure similar arrangements in other Integrated Care Boards (ICBs), NHS organisations and local authorities.

This role requires someone who understands NHS commissioning and the wider healthcare landscape, can identify emerging opportunities, influence senior stakeholders and develop long-term strategic relationships that support sustainable growth.

In addition, you will identify, develop and manage strategic partnerships with national charities and third-sector organisations that work with Dentaid's priority patient cohorts, creating national agreements that support the delivery of mobile dental clinics through partner venues. You will secure sustainable funding for partnerships through a combination of self-funded partner agreements and external charitable funding, including trusts and grants. This will enable Dentaid to expand its reach and deliver its charitable objective of ensuring people experiencing health inequalities can access the dental care they need.

This is a full-time role working 37.5 hours per week. It is a hybrid role with an expectation to work from our Totton office (near Southampton) three days per week. Due to the nature of the role, travel across the UK will be required.

Main Duties of the Role

As Business Development Manager, you will:

Identify and secure new NHS and public sector commercial opportunities that support the growth of Dentaid's commercial services.
Build on successful contract models, including the Hampshire and Isle of Wight NHS contract, to identify and pursue similar opportunities across the UK.
Develop and maintain strategic relationships with NHS England, Integrated Care Boards (ICBs), local authorities, NHS provider organisations and other commissioning bodies.

· Monitor NHS policy, commissioning priorities, procurement pipelines and healthcare developments to identify new commercial opportunities.

· Lead the development of business cases, expressions of interest, partnership proposals and commercial submissions with operational and clinical colleagues.

Attend relevant conferences, networking events, and stakeholder meetings to build strategic relationships, raise Dentaid's profile, and support business development activity.

· Build market intelligence on commissioners, competitors and emerging dental health priorities to inform commercial strategy.

· Work with senior leaders to deliver Dentaid’s commercial growth strategy, maintaining a pipeline of opportunities and reporting on progress.

· Ensure all opportunities align with Dentaid’s mission and support the sustainable growth of its commercial services.

· Identify, develop and manage strategic partnerships with national charities and third-sector organisations that support Dentaid’s priority patient cohorts, securing agreements that enable the delivery of mobile dental clinics through partner venues across the UK.

· Develop sustainable partnership models, prioritising self-funded arrangements that support Dentaid’s commercial growth and charitable mission.

Person Specification

The successful candidate will have:

Proven experience in business development within the NHS, healthcare or public sector.
A strong understanding of NHS commissioning, procurement and Integrated Care Board structures.
Experience developing strategic partnerships with senior stakeholders across healthcare and the public sector.
A track record of identifying and securing new commercial opportunities.
Excellent networking, influencing and relationship management skills.
Strong commercial awareness and strategic thinking.
Experience developing business cases, proposals or commercial opportunities.
The ability to work independently and manage a national portfolio of opportunities.
Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills.

Pay: £38,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
