Blackford Primary School is a small, nurturing rural school at the heart of its local community, serving the village of Blackford and the surrounding area.

We are looking for a teacher who:

Uses assessment and evidence effectively to inform teaching and improve outcomes.
Works collaboratively as part of a small, supportive and forward-thinking staff team.
Builds positive relationships with children, families and the wider community
is reflective, proactive and committed to ongoing professional learning and school improvement.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, skilled and reflective teacher who is committed to achieving the very best outcomes for all children.

The successful candidate will:

Hold GTCS registration (or be eligible for registration).
Demonstrate a strong understanding of Curriculum for Excellence and effective pedagical approaches.
Have experience of planning, delivering and assessing high-quality learning and teaching across a range of curricular areas.
Show a commitment to raising attainment and achievement for all learners through high expectations, effective differentiation and robust assessment practices.
Demonstrate excellent classroom management skills and the ability to create a positive, inclusive and nurturing learning environment.
Have a sound understanding of inclusive practice and experience of supporting children with additional support needs.
Use data and professional judgement effectively to inform planning and improve outcomes for learners.
Be an effective communicator who can build positive relationships with children, parents/carers, colleagues and partners.
Demonstrate flexibility, resilience and a willingness to contribute to the wider life of the school.
Be committed to ongoing professional learning and reflective practice.

The ideal candidate will also:

Have experience of teaching within a multi-stage or composite class setting.
Demonstrate an understanding of nurture approaches and trauma-informed practice.
Have experience of leading or contributing to school improvement initiatives.
Show a commitment to developing pupil leadership, voice and participation.
Have experience of interdisciplinary learning, outdoor learning and digital learning.
Be confident in working collaboratively as part of a small, supportive staff team.
Demonstrate creativity, enthusiasm and innovation in learning and teaching.
Have experience of working in partnership with community organisations and external agencies to enhance learning opportunities.
Contribute positively to the strong community ethos of Blackford Primary School.
