Full job description

Responsibility for the day to day supervision and management of all reception staff and for ensuring the smooth running of the reception area ensuring all functions are carried out in accordance with agreed procedures, protocols and time-scales . The successful candidate must have worked in Health Care and in a Management role previously.

General Management responsibilities:

Ensuring that all reception staff work to agreed procedures and perform their role effectively. This will involve performance managing staff in an effective way.
Listening and responding to issues raised by the team
Organise Reception team Rotas, clinical staff clinic rota’s, allocations of Duty Dr and changes to ensure adequate staffing for patient services
Ensure that the reception as a working space is tidy; stationery and forms are up to date and well sourced, equipment is in working order and displayed information is up to date.
Co-ordinating leave requests to arranging staff holiday rota
Responsibility for organising cover for holidays, sickness and compassionate leave
Training of new reception staff by organising and overseeing the induction training and ongoing reviews
Attend/Lead staff meetings & take minutes
Communicate effectively with other team members & patients
Deal with more complex enquiries from patients
Booking more complex appointments for patients
Deal with complaints in accordance with Practice Complaints Procedure in the absence of the Practice Manager ( PM)
Providing relief cover for reception when necessary
Any other activities such as shall be reasonably requested by the Practice Manager, Deputy Practice Manager, Doctors and other clinical staff
Attend management team meeting with the PM when needed.
Manage registrations process including deductions of records,GP2GP record transfer in work flow, temporary patient links.
Co-ordinate the Do Not Resuscitate forms for sharing and proxy access forms
PCSE portal ordering and smart card administration
Completing yearly appraisals

Job Types: Full-time, Temporary, Contract

Pay: £28,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
