Apprentice Service Engineer – Stability Chambers (Pharmaceutical Sector)

Location: North West England (Field-Based)
Job Type: Full-Time Apprenticeship

About the Role

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Apprentice Service Engineer to join our growing field service team, supporting customers across the pharmaceutical, healthcare and laboratory sectors.

This is an exciting opportunity to start a career in engineering, working on industry-leading stability chambers and environmental test equipment used in pharmaceutical research, development and manufacturing. You will gain hands-on experience servicing, maintaining and troubleshooting specialist temperature and humidity-controlled equipment while working alongside experienced engineers.

As part of your development, you will have the opportunity to undertake and achieve either a Refrigeration & Air Conditioning NVQ or an Electrical Engineering NVQ, fully supported throughout your employment.

Key Responsibilities

Assist with the service, maintenance and repair of pharmaceutical stability chambers and environmental equipment.
Support engineers with fault diagnosis and troubleshooting of electrical and refrigeration systems.
Carry out routine planned preventative maintenance (PPM) visits.
Learn calibration and validation principles used within regulated pharmaceutical environments.
Complete service reports and maintenance documentation accurately.
Maintain high standards of customer service and professionalism while on customer sites.
Follow all health, safety and quality procedures.
Travel across the North West and occasionally further afield as required.

What We're Looking For

Essential

Full UK Driving Licence.
Strong interest in engineering, technology and problem-solving.
Good practical and mechanical aptitude.
Positive attitude with a willingness to learn.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths, English and Science.

Desirable

Engineering-related qualifications or college studies.
Previous practical experience through education, hobbies or work experience.
Basic understanding of electrical or refrigeration systems.
