Core Purpose
Manage and supervise all Engineering activities processed and developed within the Work Management process. The work will include control of proactive, preventive, predictive maintenance inspections. Allocation of tasks for remedial and corrective work identified following inspection, management of breakdown and repair work resulting from unplanned failure. Ensuring work is completed safely according to company and legislative standards, to the required quality and workmanship in the time allotted. Tracking daily progress of scheduled work, expediting additional spares or support requirements to deliver the equipment back to Production within agreed timescales. Escalation of any additional work identified with key stakeholders to support the prioritisation and decision-making process.
Ensuring the Work Management process phases of execution and completion are fulfilled by the Engineering team to include compliance with standard work instructions, accurate and detailed data capture e.g., actual time, materials, cause and effect coding and technical feedback. Ensure any surplus materials are returned to stock. All repairable, routable and service exchange components returned to Stores with appropriate documentation. Ensure effective communication with Engineering team members, oncoming shifts, production operators and management.
Support the ongoing development and management of the Asset Care programme by effective engagement with the Engineering team to meet output requirements, quality expectations and cost targets. Working with the Planner/Scheduler to identify and rectify issues whilst improving the standards of the department and maintaining high standards within Environment, Health & Safety, Housekeeping, Performance, Waste, Communication and Continuous Improvement. To support the Engineering Manager to deliver the Key Objectives and KPI’s for Operations.

Areas of responsibility:
Health and Safety - Responsible for driving compliance to HSER standards using all Leadership in action tools.
· Accountable for personal health & safety and that of the department whilst at work, operating in line with the company Health & Safety Policy and Health & Safety procedures to enable a safe working environment.
· To raise any unsafe acts seen immediately with individual(s) concerned and immediate reporting of health and safety incidents to management.
· Management and coordination of all engineering materials identified within and compliant with the Work Management process.
People Management - Identify, investigate, resolve any Engineering issues that arise, supervising/ coaching individuals as appropriate and supporting the team with queries and concerns to develop an environment of trust and support that will encourage engagement and individual development.
Service Management - Manage risk to accepted level supporting the organisation’s strategic objectives in the areas of environmental, health and safety, asset availability, quality, productivity.
· Ensure production/engineering customers remain informed of progress, issues or delays regarding spares and materials through effective communication.
· Reporting- Development and review of the maintenance program and systems by developing measures for and tracking KPIs whilst working closely with the Planner/Scheduler.
Preventative Maintenance - Ensure the deployment of effective and efficient equipment tactics to support defined reliability tactics and ensure optimum Mean Time Between Failure.
· Monitor and coach Standard Work Instructions aligned with the Preventive Maintenance program and guide maintainers through inspections.
· Constantly monitor the effectiveness of preventative/predictive maintenance tactics in relation to increasing asset availability and reducing downtime.
Communication - To ensure a professional line is always presented, managing site expectations as appropriate in line with the business priorities.
· You will be required to interact and communicate regularly with Operations and Maintenance teams.
Continuous Improvement - Work with the Engineering team, Planner/Scheduler and others within the business to improve cross-departmental relations to increase flexibility and efficiency in our service offerings.
· Continually challenge and develop our process flows and methods of operating to deliver upon our customer excellence programme.
· Play an active role within the Engineering team by attending meetings to ensure effective and constructive Engineering input into the development of the site to meet the business plan.
Quality - To ensure that all quality systems and procedures are maintained at the highest level within the business and to contribute to the control and organisation of the site clearly defined KPI.
· To assist the Quality manager in spreading clear responsibility across the department to ensure quality levels meet our required high standards.

Education
Essential
· Educated to GCSE with ONC/HNC level in an Engineering discipline.
Desirable:
· Evidence of continuous learning and development during career.
Job Specific Technical Requirements:
Essential:
· BTEC Level 3 (ONC/HNC) in an Engineering discipline
· Experience in engineering production support
Advantageous:
· Knowledge of a manufacturing environment and continuous improvement tools and techniques. Working knowledge of CMMS systems, Microsoft/Excel
