We are looking for a Cleaning Performance Analyst to join our team and help transform the way cleaning services are delivered across our retail estate.
Our business uses innovative sensor technology across retail sites to understand customer footfall and identify when cleaning activity is required. This allows us to move away from a purely fixed-schedule approach and towards a smarter, data-led model where cleaning resources are aligned with actual site demand.
This role will sit at the heart of that process.
You will analyse data generated from our sites and cleaning teams, identify where performance does not match demand, and ensure that the appropriate action is taken. Working closely with our Helpdesk and Operations teams, you will turn data and insight into practical action that improves service delivery.
This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys solving problems, spotting patterns and making things happen.
You won’t simply be producing reports and handing them over to somebody else.
You will identify the issue, understand what is happening, work with the relevant teams to resolve it and monitor whether the solution has worked.
What You’ll Be Doing
Analysing Data and Identifying Opportunities
- Monitor sensor data and cleaning activity across our retail sites.
- Analyse occupancy and cleaning data to understand whether cleaning resources are aligned with actual demand.
- Identify missed, delayed, insufficient or potentially unnecessary cleaning activity.
- Investigate trends, anomalies and recurring performance issues.
- Compare expected cleaning requirements against actual cleaning activity.
- Identify opportunities to improve cleaning schedules, resource allocation and operational efficiency.
- Use data to identify potential problems before they become client complaints.
Turning Insight into Action
Finding a problem is only half the job.
You will be responsible for ensuring that the appropriate action is taken when data identifies a potential performance issue.
This may include:
- Working with the Helpdesk team to raise and manage issues.
- Providing evidence and insight to support operational investigations.
- Working with Operations teams to understand the root cause of an issue.
- Monitoring actions through to completion.
- Escalating recurring or serious issues where appropriate.
- Reviewing whether actions taken have successfully improved performance.
You will be expected to challenge the question:
“What does the data tell us, and what are we going to do about it?”
Working with the Helpdesk
You will work closely with our Helpdesk team, which acts as a central point of contact for operational issues across our estate.
You will:
- Identify issues requiring Helpdesk or operational intervention.
- Provide clear information and evidence to support investigations.
- Help develop processes for managing data-driven alerts and exceptions.
- Work with the Helpdesk to ensure issues are logged, assigned and progressed effectively.
- Identify opportunities to improve workflows and reduce unnecessary manual intervention.
- Support the development of a more proactive approach to managing cleaning performance.
Reporting and Continuous Improvement
You will produce regular reporting and analysis for operational and management teams, helping to turn large volumes of data into clear and practical insight.
You will:
- Produce regular performance reports and management information.
- Identify key trends, risks and recurring issues.
- Provide clear commentary and recommendations alongside the data.
- Support the development of dashboards and automated reporting.
- Track the effectiveness of actions taken.
- Contribute to the ongoing development of our sensor technology and data-led operating model.
What We’re Looking For
We are looking for someone who is analytical, curious and commercially minded.
You don’t need to be a traditional data scientist. You do need to be someone who can look at a dataset, identify something that doesn’t look right, ask the right questions and then take action.
You’ll need:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working with data and identifying trends or exceptions.
- Strong Excel skills and the ability to analyse large datasets.
- The ability to turn data into clear, practical actions.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- The ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Confidence to challenge performance issues and ask difficult questions.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving.
It would be great if you also have:
- Experience in facilities management, cleaning, retail or operational environments.
- Experience using sensor or Internet of Things (IoT) technology.
- Experience working with Helpdesk or ticketing systems.
- Experience using Zoho Analytics, Tableau, Power BI or similar reporting tools.
- Experience creating dashboards and management information.
- Experience analysing workforce or operational performance data.
What You’ll Be Like
You will be someone who:
- Wants to understand why something is happening, not just identify that it is happening.
- Is comfortable challenging assumptions with evidence.
- Takes ownership of issues from identification through to resolution.
- Doesn’t wait to be told there is a problem.
- Can spot patterns that others may miss.
- Is comfortable working with both data and people.
- Can explain complex information in a simple and practical way.
- Is organised and able to manage multiple priorities.
- Understands that good analysis is pointless if nobody acts on it.
Why This Role Matters
This role will help us move towards a more intelligent, proactive and data-led approach to cleaning operations.
Instead of relying solely on fixed schedules and assumptions, we are using real-time information to understand what is happening across our sites and make better operational decisions.
Your work will help us:
- Improve cleaning performance.
- Better align resources with actual customer demand.
- Identify issues earlier.
- Reduce avoidable service failures.
- Improve operational efficiency.
- Support better outcomes for our clients and customers.
The Bottom Line
This is a role for someone who wants to do more than produce reports.
You will use data to identify what is happening, understand why it is happening and make sure something is done about it.
If you are analytical, commercially minded, naturally curious and enjoy solving operational problems, we want to hear from you.
