Full job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an organised and proactive administrator to join the Radiotherapy team at The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust, one of the world's leading cancer centres. Working within a busy and supportive multidisciplinary environment, you will provide comprehensive administrative support to the Lead in Clinical Oncology, College Tutor, Education Lead and Consultant Clinical Oncologists, helping to ensure the smooth delivery of radiotherapy services and medical education programmes.
This is a varied and rewarding role with responsibility for coordinating junior doctor inductions, supporting trainee education and teaching programmes, maintaining training and workforce records, organising departmental meetings, managing consultant and trainee rotas, and liaising with a wide range of stakeholders including the Royal College of Radiologists, Deanery teams and postgraduate education services. You will also support governance and compliance processes, maintain confidential information and contribute to the effective running of the Clinical Oncology department.
We are looking for a highly organised individual with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, strong administrative experience, and the ability to prioritise a busy workload while working independently. Experience within a healthcare environment would be advantageous, although not essential.

Provide administrative and secretarial support to the Lead in Clinical Oncology & College Tutor and Education Lead for the Clinical Oncology resident doctors

Provide administrative support to the Clinical Oncology Consultants Group (COCG) meeting

Provide support to the Education Lead and organise the local and regional radiotherapy induction for all South London trainees at the start of each new rotation (March and September).

Liaises with PGME and records attendance and facilitates phone -free mandatory teaching.

Responsible for managing and prioritising own workload

Update the Royal College of Radiologists with information for the RCR Workforce annual Census.

Support, organise and oversee resident doctors’ teaching sessions, weekly and monthly in close liaison with the Educational Lead+ PGME

Help manage contracts of resident doctors appointed through the Medical Training Initiative

Organise and maintain departmental resident doctor’s orientation and training records. Liaise with Education Lead and College Tutor, Royal College of Radiologists and Deanery regarding training matters. Deal with confidential reports and correspondence

Compile Clinical Oncology Consultant on-call Rotas every six months and update and circulate revised rotas

Meet and assist with the local induction of all new Clinical Oncology resident doctors starting at the Trust

Arrange office space in the Oak centre, Sutton and Chelsea basement in Granard House.

Arrange office space for visiting medical staff and overseas trainees to the department when required

Arrange IT training, Epic training and BEACON training, ID badges, Radiation Protection badges TLD’s) for all Clinical Oncology resident doctors

Support and help manage Radiotherapy Induction sessions – Local induction is held in the first week of each new rotation, over 2 days (subject to change). The Regional induction includes all new South London Clinical Oncology trainees and is held over 3 days.

Support the Local RMH induction and mandatory training. This includes liaising with the Education Lead to organise the programme and speakers (Radiographers/Physics), booking rooms and video-links and ensuring workbooks are printed and handed out as appropriate.
