This is an exciting opportunity to join our Mission Systems business, supporting the delivery of critical defence and engineering programmes. You'll play a key role in ensuring complex projects meet customer, regulatory and business quality requirements, helping deliver solutions that contribute to national security and operational excellence. As a Senior Quality Engineer, you'll have the opportunity to influence quality culture, drive continuous improvement, engage with customers and stakeholders, and make a lasting impact across high-profile projects.

The role

As a Senior Quality Engineer, you'll provide expert quality support across the project lifecycle, helping teams deliver to the highest standards of quality, safety and performance. This is a varied and influential role where you'll work closely with project teams, customers and leadership to ensure successful outcomes while developing your own expertise within a leading international engineering organisation.

Day-to-day, you’ll be required to:
Providing quality advice, guidance and support to project teams throughout the delivery lifecycle.
Identifying and managing customer, regulatory and internal quality requirements across multiple projects.
Supporting continuous improvement initiatives and driving positive quality culture change.
Assessing quality risks and implementing mitigation actions, escalating where appropriate.
Building strong relationships with customers and stakeholders while representing quality interests across programmes.

This role is full time, 37 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with 1 / 2 days onsite and 2 / 3 days working from home.

Essential experience of the Senior Quality Engineer

Significant practical experience in a Quality Engineering role within a regulated engineering, manufacturing, defence, aerospace or related industry.
Strong understanding of quality management principles throughout a product or service delivery lifecycle.
Experience supporting projects and working with customer-facing stakeholders.
Proven ability to drive quality improvements and support organisational culture change.
Experience identifying, managing and mitigating quality-related risks.

Qualifications for the Senior Quality Engineer

Desirable:
ONC, HNC or NVQ Level 3 qualification in a Quality, science, engineering discipline, or at least 3 years working in a Quality role.
Membership of an applicable body, i.e., CQI is preferred.
ISO 9001 auditor
