Role Summary
The Secondee role is available within the International Directorate and will be within the Joint International Crime Centre (JICC).
The JICC Analysis Team is a multi-disciplinary team of Intelligence, Performance and Technical Analysts. At our most strategic, our products inform Home Office capability boards and the
NPCC International Criminality Portfolio and is cited at Home Affairs committees. Tactically, we drive internal prioritisation, force engagement and locate fugitives wanted for extradition. The Senior Analyst will lead a small team, responsible for Intelligence and Performance analysis. Their team will drive organisational decision-making, evidence the impact of our work and articulate how the JICC keeps the public safe.
Role Description
The JICC consists of approximately three hundred NCA officers and seconded police officers and police staff. The JICC leads, coordinates and supports the response of UK policing and wider law enforcement to international crime. It leads and coordinates lawful international cooperation through a 24/7 service that prioritises and responds to operational requirements of domestic and international partners. As a part of the Joint International Crime Centre (JICC), you will provide an international cooperation service to front line policing and wider law enforcement, using all of the international capabilities within the NCA. You will build and maintain domestic and international relationships to deliver against operational objectives.
The JICC's Analysis & Insight Team provide tactical and strategic support across all JICC capabilities in order to identify and prioritise risk and drive our operational response. Our Senior Analyst and their team play a key role in supporting evidence-based decision-making, prioritisation and risk management across the JICC, with an impact far wider across the NCA, policing and partners.
Every day in the JICC is different. You will be responsible for dealing with the response to a variety ofthreat areas, with links to national and international priorities. You will be working in a dynamic environment, prioritising and managing expectations of both UK and international partners, whilst delivering a quality service to meet customer needs. You will be required to maintain a flexible and innovative approach to your leadership, adapting to fluctuating demands and priorities, which could range from simple intelligence checks to complex crimes in action. You will ensure that all activity is prioritised, aligned with strategic objectives, and complies with statutory provisions and relevant control strategies.
The JICC is still within its implementation phase and, as such, you will be required to work with colleagues internally and externally to identify and implement new, efficient ways of working, whilst embedding a positive culture across diverse teams.
Duties and Responsibilities
Supervise a team of analysts, leading and coordinating the production of intelligence products to drive internal activity
Quality assurance, ensuring work is carried out to the highest standard, supports decision making and makes appropriate use information sources and analytical tools and techniques.
Maintain an awareness of developments and good practise in analysis, supporting analysts to achieve Intelligence Professionalisation Programme accreditation
Produce, present and disseminate appropriate and relevant analytical outputs e.g. products to inform tactical, operational or strategic decision making;
Deliver briefings and presentations, making recommendations to support the decision making and risk management process;
Ensure appropriate and secure handling and dissemination of material in accordance with relevant legislation, policies and procedures
Develop expertise in relation to international capabilities, as well as analytical specialisms as required by role
Person Specification
Formal Intelligence analysis training or equivalent experience within an analytical field For example: NIAT / GIAT / DIAM / NAP / NCA Analyst Foundation 1 / Intelligence Analyst (level 4) Apprenticeship
Proficient in the use of information technology Experience handling large complex data sets using Microsoft 365 technologies and specialist analytical software

Entry Requirements
This role is a closed competition and is only available to existing police staff who must work for a Police Force in England & Wales. We are not accepting applications from Civil Servants.
Regular travel to London, Warrington and Birmingham will be required as part of the role.
Important Information
This role will be undertaken on a secondment basis, while agreements are in place through National Police Chiefs Council (NPCC), we require all prospective applicants to seek the appropriate level of force support whilst within the application process, with the recommendation that this is at Director of People Services or Assistant Chief Constable level.
The NCA reserves the right to withdraw any offer made to a successful candidate if the required force approval is not received within 10 working days of the offer being issued or if force approval is withdrawn at any time during the process.

Must have previously held, or currently holds, a policing role with relevant experience in policing
