Job Overview

Join our dynamic security team as a Security Dog Handler, where your energy and vigilance will play a vital role in safeguarding our facilities. In this engaging position, you will work closely with trained security dogs to patrol premises, deter threats, and respond swiftly to security incidents. Your proactive approach and dedication will ensure a safe environment for staff, visitors, and assets. This paid role offers an exciting opportunity to combine physical activity with security expertise, making a tangible difference every day.

Duties

Conduct regular patrols of the premises using trained security dogs to detect unauthorized access or suspicious activity
Implement surveillance strategies utilizing CCTV systems to monitor key areas and identify potential security breaches
Assist in loss prevention efforts by deterring theft and ensuring the safety of merchandise and property
Respond promptly to alarms or incidents, coordinating with emergency services if necessary
Perform routine inspections of facilities, including perimeter checks and fence line audits, to maintain security integrity
Maintain detailed logs of patrols, incidents, and observations for reporting purposes
Support first aid procedures when required, providing assistance until professional help arrives

Qualifications

Proven experience working with security dogs or in canine handling roles is highly desirable
Knowledge of surveillance techniques and CCTV operation is essential
Strong understanding of loss prevention strategies and security protocols
Ability to perform first aid procedures confidently and effectively
Excellent observational skills with keen attention to detail during patrols and surveillance activities
Physically fit with the stamina to stand, walk, or run for extended periods as needed
Valid certifications in security operations or canine handling are a plus but not mandatory
