Job Summary

Systematic Security is seeking dedicated Wake and Watch Security Officers to safeguard vacant and unoccupied premises throughout the night, ensuring properties remain secure, compliant and free from unauthorised access. This role demands unwavering vigilance and discipline, as officers are required to remain awake and alert throughout their shift, conducting continuous monitoring rather than static or patrol based observation alone. This is an excellent opportunity for reliable, committed individuals seeking a long term career within a respected security provider.

Duties

Maintain continuous, active observation of the premises throughout the shift, ensuring full alertness is sustained at all times
Conduct scheduled internal and external patrols to check for signs of intrusion, damage, fire risk or structural concerns
Monitor CCTV systems where installed, reporting any irregularities without delay
Record all observations, patrols and incidents accurately within logbooks or digital reporting systems
Respond immediately to alarms, emergencies or breaches of security, escalating to management or emergency services as appropriate
Ensure all doors, windows and access points remain secure throughout the shift
Liaise professionally with clients, site managers and emergency services when required
Report any maintenance issues, hazards or safety concerns identified during the shift
Adhere strictly to lone working procedures and company protocols given the isolated nature of the role

Requirements

Valid SIA Security Guarding Licence is essential
Proven experience within a static security, night watch or lone working environment is desirable
Demonstrable ability to remain alert and focused throughout extended overnight shifts
Strong written communication skills for accurate incident and patrol reporting
Sound understanding of health and safety, fire safety and lone working procedures
Reliable transport, given the nature of overnight and remote site postings
Full right to work in the UK
Flexibility to undertake overnight shifts, including weekends and public holidays as required
First aid certification is advantageous though not mandatory
