Full job description

Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Financial Controller role based in Cardiff. The Financial Controller will oversee day-to-day financial operations, including maintaining the general ledger, supervising month-end and year-end close processes, and ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting. Responsibilities include preparing and reviewing financial statements, managing cash flow, monitoring budgets and forecasts, and supporting investment performance analysis. The role will also involve implementing and improving internal controls, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations, and coordinating with external auditors, banks, and advisors. The Financial Controller will collaborate closely with senior leadership to provide financial insights, support strategic decision-making, and contribute to the development of financial policies and procedures.

Qualifications

Strong accounting foundation, including experience with Accounting principles and preparation of Financial Statements.
Proficiency in Finance and Financial Reporting, with the ability to produce accurate management reports and statutory accounts.
Well-developed Analytical Skills to interpret financial data, assess investment performance, and support decision-making.
Professional qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent, or significant progress toward such certification.
Proven experience in a Financial Controller or senior finance role, ideally within investment, asset management, or related sectors.
Advanced skills in financial systems and spreadsheets, with a focus on process improvement and internal controls.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to explain financial information clearly to non-finance colleagues.
High level of integrity, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and in a team in a fast-paced environment.

Pay: £35,000.00-£50,000.00 per year
