Our Private Client team is made up of experienced lawyers and dedicated legal support professionals who are passionate about delivering exceptional client care and technical excellence.
We advise a diverse client base, including high-net-worth individuals, landed estates, farming families, business owners, elderly and vulnerable clients, and those requiring complex estate, trust and succession planning. Many of our lawyers hold prestigious professional memberships, including STEP.

We are seeking an experienced Private Client lawyer at Associate up to Salaried Partner level, depending on experience and expertise.
This is a fantastic opportunity to combine high-quality private client work with a leading role in the continued growth of our Exeter office. Working closely with colleagues across the wider team, you'll play a key role in building strong client relationships, developing the local client base, and supporting the continued success of the office.
Your work will include:

Wills and succession planning

Estate administration and probate

Trust creation and administration

Inheritance tax and wealth planning

Agricultural and rural estate matters

Business succession planning

Lasting Powers of Attorney and Court of Protection matters
Alongside your caseload, you'll have the opportunity to mentor junior colleagues, contribute to business development activities, and support the ongoing growth of the Exeter Private Client team.
You'll be based in our Exeter office, working alongside colleagues from a range of practice areas and supporting the continued growth of our presence in the city.

As a senior member of the team, you'll also work closely with the Head of Office, helping to promote the Exeter office, strengthen local relationships and contribute to its ongoing success.
We're looking for an experienced Private Client lawyer with strong technical expertise and a genuine desire to contribute to the growth of the Exeter practice.
Ideally, you'll have:

Significant experience across a broad range of Private Client matters

STEP qualification or be actively working towards qualification

Strong knowledge of trusts, estate planning and inheritance tax matters

Experience advising on agricultural, rural or business-related Private Client work

Confidence managing complex matters independently

Experience mentoring or supporting junior colleagues

Strong commercial awareness and relationship-building skills
