Overview

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Maintenance Engineering Manager to lead our maintenance department. The successful candidate will oversee all aspects of maintenance operations, ensuring the reliability, safety, and efficiency of plant equipment and systems. This role offers an exciting opportunity for a professional with strong management skills, technical expertise, and a proactive approach to maintenance management. The Maintenance Engineering Manager will be instrumental in driving continuous improvement initiatives and fostering a culture of safety and operational excellence within the organisation.

Duties

Lead and manage the maintenance team, providing guidance, supervision, and development opportunities to ensure high performance.
Develop and implement preventative maintenance programmes to minimise downtime and optimise equipment lifespan.
Oversee the planning and execution of complex maintenance projects, ensuring timely completion within budget constraints.
Utilise project management tools to coordinate activities across multiple departments and stakeholders.
Analyse equipment failure data to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
Review schematics, electrical diagrams, and control system documentation, including programmable logic controllers (PLCs), to facilitate troubleshooting and repairs.
Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations and promote a culture of safety awareness among staff.
Manage spare parts inventory, procurement processes, and maintenance records to ensure operational readiness.
Collaborate with production teams to schedule maintenance activities with minimal disruption to operations.
Lead continuous improvement initiatives aimed at increasing efficiency, reducing costs, and enhancing system reliability.

Experience

Proven management experience within a maintenance or engineering environment, ideally in manufacturing or industrial settings.
Extensive project management experience with a track record of successfully delivering complex projects on time and within scope.
Strong electrical knowledge, including experience working with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), electrical schematics, and control systems.
Mechanical expertise related to industrial equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
Supervising experience with the ability to lead diverse teams effectively.
Familiarity with health & safety standards relevant to industrial maintenance environments.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks efficiently.
Fluency in English, both written and spoken, is essential for effective communication across teams.
