Join our Team!

We are excited to be recruiting for a part-time Receptionist to join our team to work across our 3 practices in Orkney.

There would be an opportunity to progress into to a Trainee Dental Nurse role. There is also an opportunity for this role to assist in LDU.

Our practice is a well-established and trusted part of the community, known for delivering excellent patient care in a welcoming environment. We take pride in our dedicated team of professionals who are passionate and committed to delivering the highest standards of clinical excellence. Our practice is not only a great place to receive care, but also a rewarding and fulfilling place to build a career.

Hours of work: 3 days 8.00am - 5.30pm. 2 days will also be considered. No evening or weekend working required.

Pay - £14.26 per hour including island allowance.

At our Kirkwall and Stromness practices there is parking nearby and there is parking onsite at our Daisybank practice.

Your Role

You will be responsible for providing a professional reception service and ensuring excellent patient care in line with our practice values. In addition, you will play an important role in ensuring compliance with all health and safety guidance.

Other duties include –

Creating a welcoming environment for patients that sets them at ease from the outset
Maximising the use of the internal system (Software of Excellence) to ensure accurate patient records are maintained
Answering the telephone, making appointments and collecting patient charges

Maintaining practice reception cleanliness standards to ensure the patient has confidence in the quality of the care they will receive
Managing the appointment book for all clinicians to ensure surgery utilisation and clinician productivity while meeting patient appointment needs

About You

Relevant experience gained in a general practice environment is desirable
Proven track record in a customer/patient focused reception environment is required
Willing to demonstrate the highest levels of patient care
The ability to work on own initiative as well as part of a team
Enthusiastic, with an appetite to learn and develop new skills
