Your responsibilities as a CAD Lead
Take a lead on projects or initiatives; ensuring all projects/initiatives are well planned prior to start up thus ensuring the design phase of the project is completed to schedule and budget; planning will require as a minimum the production and maintenance of the following throughout the lifecycle of the project/initiative:-
Create, develop and maintain a consistent set of Parker drafting standards and practices for producing all models/drawing deliverables in a consistent format and manner.
Based on World’s Best Practice, produce a set of Parker processes to enable efficient delivery.
Collaborating with other functions within Execution and in the wider organisation to provide value in terms of support, advice, guidance, optimisation of resources.
Production of accurate 3D models and 2D drawings in a timely and efficient manner.
Working closely with the Engineering Lead to support project needs
Pro-active in keeping up to date with CAD software, systems and developments
Who we are looking for
-
HND or equivalent professional experience
Fluency with AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor
Good knowledge and understanding of Autodesk Vault document management system
Knowledge of current drawing practices, including welding symbols, fabrication techniques, industry standards
Willingness & ability to travel internationally, up to 20% working time
Ideally, you will also have
Experience of sheet metal fabrication
Experience and demonstrated success working in a cross-functional engineering environment.
Awareness of international engineering standards, regulations and export control requirements.
