We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Credit Controller. In this vital role, you will be responsible for managing the company's credit accounts, ensuring the timely collection of outstanding payments, and maintaining positive client relationships. Your expertise will help optimise cash flow, reduce overdue balances, and support the organisation's overall financial health.

Role Objectives:
To manage the end-to-end credit control process ensuring timely collection of outstanding debts, minimising bad debt exposure, and maintaining accurate customer account records.
Main Responsibilities:
· Manage the sales ledger across group entities, chasing outstanding invoices via phone, email, and letter in a professional and firm manner
· Monitor aged debt reports and proactively escalate overdue accounts in line with company credit policy
· Negotiate payment plans with customers where appropriate, and liaise with Finance Director on accounts requiring formal debt recovery action
· Place accounts on hold/release in line with credit terms and internal approval processes
· Investigate and resolve invoice queries and disputes promptly, liaising with sales/account management teams as needed
· Prepare and issue overdue payment notices and escalate to legal/collections when required
· Reconcile customer accounts and allocate cash receipts accurately
· Produce weekly/monthly debtor reports for management review
· Set up new customer accounts, including credit checks and credit limit recommendations
· Assist with month-end tasks including debtor reconciliations and provisions for bad/doubtful debts
· Maintain accurate, well-organised financial records relating to the sales ledger (digital and physical)
· Assist with ad hoc projects such as system implementations, process improvements, or audit preparation
Personal Requirements:

· Strong IT skills, Microsoft Excel and Word
· Good communication skills, both written and verbal
