As a Junior Sous Chef, you will play an integral role in supporting the Head Chef and Sous Chef with the day-to-day running of the kitchen. You will help to maintain consistently high standards of food quality, lead and develop team members, and ensure full compliance with food safety procedures and operational standards.

The Role
- Support the Head Chef and Sous Chef with daily kitchen operations and service delivery.
- Coordinate kitchen sections to ensure the smooth and efficient running of service.
- Supervise, coach, and support Chef de Parties, Commis Chefs, and Kitchen Assistants.
- Maintain exceptional standards of food quality, presentation, and portion control.
- Support stock management, ordering procedures, stock rotation, and waste reduction initiatives.
- Ensure full compliance with food safety, allergen, health and safety, and company procedures.
- Assist with hospitality events, executive dining, and special functions.
- Lead kitchen operations in the absence of the Sous Chef when required.
- Contribute to a positive and collaborative working environment that encourages development and continuous improvement.
About You
- NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Professional Cookery, or equivalent experience.
- Previous experience as a Chef de Partie or Senior Chef de Partie.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate and support colleagues.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and time management skills.
- A customer-focused, proactive, and flexible approach to work.
- A passion for producing food of the highest quality and presentation standards.
- A thorough understanding of food safety, allergen management, and health and safety regulations.
- The ability to work calmly and effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- A commitment to fostering a positive kitchen culture and supporting the development of others.
