Full job description

At Sitting Pretty by Pride Mobility Ltd, we design and manufacture some of the highest-quality riser recliner chairs and motion furniture in the UK.

Due to continued growth, we are looking for an experienced Bagger to join our busy manufacturing team at our factory in South Normanton, DE55 2FX.

About the Role

As a Bagger, you will play an important role in our production process, primarily preparing and packaging beds, with responsibility for chairs and other upholstered products when required. You will ensure finished products are carefully protected, bagged and prepared to the highest standards before dispatch, maintaining quality, accuracy and efficiency throughout the process.

DESCRIPTION/JOB SUMMARY

The Bagging team are responsible for wrapping, bagging, and packaging furniture products to prepare them for storage or shipment. This role ensures all furniture items are protected against damage during handling and transport, following quality and safety standards.

The Bagging team report to the Quality Control Supervisor.

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES

Bagging of bed parts
Bag all parts of the bed manufactured head/foot, side rails, drawers, cross rails and centre rails
Bagging Single Chairs, Sofas, footstools and beds
Boxing Chairs
Keep stock checks on plastic rolls, tape and boxes
Wrapping service items and place in the service area
Report any damaged or defective items to management
Visual check over for faults, damage and dirt, where applicable raise this with QC, QC Supervisor or Factory Manager
Use computer to push furniture through once bagged
Add ‘L’ brackets where applicable (all standard sides, none for legged or drawer beds).
Tape Screws to all cross rails
2’3-4 head/foot together, 4’6-6 separately due to manual handling restrictions
Place in the designated area ready for despatch
Flexible within the company and carry out other duties when required
Maintain cleanliness and organization in the packing area
RO Sofas attach joining brackets to each piece, Connect together and test before QC And bagging
Staple a fire label to every piece of furniture before bagging

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

Good communication skills
Able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Secondary school education

Must be physically fit, hard working and reliable, overtime is available as and when required
