Full job description

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Cook/Chef to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for food preparation and a strong understanding of kitchen operations. This role is catering for the elderly with homecooked, traditional meals in mind, contribute to creating delicious meals, and ensure high standards of food safety and presentation. The successful applicant will be responsible for preparing a variety of dishes, maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen, and delivering excellent service to our customers.

Responsibilities

Prepare and cook a wide range of dishes according to recipes and quality standards
Ensure all food is prepared in accordance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards
Assist in meal planning and portion control to minimise waste
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including equipment and utensils
Monitor stock levels and assist with inventory management
Collaborate with team members to deliver efficient service during busy periods
Serve meals to customers when required, ensuring presentation meets company standards
Follow health and safety procedures at all times to create a safe working environment

Requirements

Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or a similar role within a restaurant or catering environment
Strong knowledge of culinary techniques and food safety regulations
Ability to work efficiently under pressure during busy service times
Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in meal presentation
Experience in meal preparation, serving, and maintaining high hygiene standards
Previous kitchen experience is highly desirable
Flexibility to work shifts as required, including weekends or evenings if necessary
A genuine passion for cooking and delivering exceptional customer experiences

Pay: £12.21-£13.00 per hour

Work Location: In person
