Mott MacDonald Bentley is a fully integrated design and build business combining the design expertise of Mott MacDonald with the contracting experience of JN Bentley, operating across water, energy and environment sectors throughout the UK.

We have secured a new framework with Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water that will last up to eight years, this will see MMB tackle projects across the DCC region covering both clean and wastewater treatment sites, as well as below ground assets, reservoirs and nature-based solutions.

After securing our first framework with DCC at the beginning of AMP8, our presence in Wales has grown significantly, directly employing over 300 colleagues in the country across all roles, from frontline construction to design and management positions.

The Planner is responsible for developing, monitoring, and updating project schedules to ensure construction programmes are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. This role involves close collaboration with project managers, site teams, and stakeholders to provide accurate planning, forecasting, and reporting.

The role of a Planner includes:

Develop detailed construction programmes using planning software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project)
Monitor progress against baseline schedules and update regularly.
Identifyrisks, delays, and opportunities, proposing mitigation strategies.
Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to align schedules with site activities.
Produce progress reports, dashboards, and forecasts for senior management and clients.
Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and project milestones.
Support tender planning and bid submissions with realistic programme schedules.
Maintain accurate records of programme changes and justifications.

What you’ll need:

Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related discipline (preferred).
Proven experience in programme planning within construction or infrastructure projects.
Familiarity with NEC, JCT, or other standard forms of contract.
Professional membership (e.g., APM, CIOB, ICE) isadvantageous.
Competency in the use of Primavera P6 and an interest in 4D planning
Strong knowledge of construction sequencing, methodologies, and industry standards.
Proficiencyin planning software (Primavera P6, MS Project, or equivalent).
A valid driving licence and willingness to travel to sites across your operational region
