THE ROLE:
We are seeking a skilled and proactive AV Technician to join our growing production team. This role is perfect for a hands-on technical professional who excels in setting up, operating, and supporting a wide range of audio-visual and broadcast equipment for live, hybrid, and corporate events. You will play a pivotal role on-site and in our warehouse, ensuring seamless technical delivery, high-quality client support, and flawless execution from setup through to de-rig.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
On-Site Technical Execution & Live Support:
· Set up, manage, and provide live technical support for Webex, Teams, Zoom, and other Virtual Event Platforms as required.
· Install and operate a variety of AV equipment on-site, including audio kit (amps, speakers, mixing desks, microphones), LED screens, projectors, switchers, interfaces, and cameras.
· Drive and deliver equipment to event venues, preparing, rigging, and securing all cabling safely without obstruction.
· De-rig on-site equipment carefully, ensuring venues are left clean, tidy, and free of rubbish.
Client & Stakeholder Management:
· Act as a key on-site technical contact, liaising directly with clients to ensure their exact event requirements are met.
· Deliver exceptional client service at all times, assisting in making every production, event, or exhibition a complete success.
· Liaise effectively with the Hire Desk, PM team, and MPG management, ensuring any issues are reported in a timely manner.
Equipment & Warehouse Operations:
· Assist with checkout, check-in, and warehouse duties at MPG premises as required.
· Verify equipment lists prior to events to ensure all correct kit, tools, and consumables are packed and prepared.
· Ensure all equipment is handled, loaded, and packed safely to maintain lifespan and adhere to manual handling guidelines.
· Adhere strictly to Health and Safety procedures and risk assessments at all times.
REQUIREMENTS FOR THE ROLE:
· 2+ years’ experience operating a wide range of audio-visual and broadcast equipment in a professional event environment.
· Good working knowledge of Webex, Teams, Zoom, and other Virtual Event Platforms.
· Strong technical understanding of audio kit, lighting, LED screens, projectors, cameras, vision mixers, and switchers.
· Confident client-facing and communication skills, with a strong proactive and self-motivated attitude.
· Excellent organisational skills, punctuality, flexibility, and strong attention to detail.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly PowerPoint.
· Strong commitment to Health & Safety and manual handling standards.
· Clean UK Driving Licence.
