What’s your mission?
As a Junior Developer, you will support the development, improvement, and maintenance of software solutions used across the business and by our customers. This is a great opportunity for someone starting their career in software development who wants to build practical experience in a real business environment.
You will work closely with experienced developers and technical teams, learning how to write, test, troubleshoot, and improve code while following established development processes and procedures.
We are looking for someone who is technically curious, customer focused, and comfortable working in a fast-moving technology environment. You do not need years of experience, but you will need a genuine interest in software development, AI, and how technology can be used to improve the way we work and support our customers.
This is a full-time role and would suit a recent graduate, junior developer, or someone with a good foundation in software development who is ready to develop their career further.
What will you be doing?
You will support the development team with day-to-day software development activities under guidance and supervision. Responsibilities will include:

Writing, testing, and maintaining code in line with business requirements

Supporting the development of internal systems, customer-facing platforms, and technical tools
-
Following documented development processes, procedures, and coding standards
-
Troubleshooting issues and assisting with bug fixes
-
Supporting the improvement of existing systems and applications
-
Working with technical teams to understand requirements and deliver practical solutions
-
Learning how software changes are planned, tested, reviewed, and released
-
Using AI tools appropriately to support development, problem-solving, and productivity
-
Documenting work clearly, including updates, changes, and technical notes
-
Taking part in code reviews, testing, and continuous improvement activities
-
Building an understanding of Telappliant’s products, services, systems, and customer needs
-
Liaising with internal teams to understand how development work supports the wider business
As your experience develops, you will gradually take on more responsibility and contribute to larger development projects.

Degree, qualification, training, or demonstrable personal experience in software development or a related technical field

Working knowledge of Linux

Programming language knowledge in Java, C, or C++

Understanding of software development principles

An interest in how AI can support software development, improve ways of working, and encourage innovation

Some understanding of networking would be beneficial

Understanding of network programming and multi-threaded programming

PHP or Python knowledge would be an advantage

Understanding of how to write clear, structured, and maintainable code

Good working knowledge of Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel, and Outlook

Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
