Full job description

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Part-time Sales/Purchase ledger clerk to join our team! In this vital role, you will manage essential financial records, ensure accuracy in transactions, and support our overall accounting processes. This is a part time position of 1 day per week or 2 morning ideally on Thu, Fri or Monday ideal for those looking to contribute their bookkeeping expertise while balancing other commitments. Your proactive approach and familiarity with accounting software will help keep our financial operations running smoothly and efficiently.

Responsibilities

Process purchase invoices and reconcile supplier statements in Xero, investigating and resolving any discrepancies
Prepare and process sales invoices and ensure timely collection of customer payments

Experience

Proven experience working as a bookkeeper or in a similar accounting support role
Familiarity with Xero is essential
Strong understanding of accounts payable processes and general ledger management
Excellent attention to detail with the ability to spot errors quickly
Ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks efficiently
Prior experience in small business or nonprofit environments is a plus
