We have a new opportunity for an experienced Power Platform Developer to join our Technology team on a fixed term contract basis until June 2027. This role is offered with hybrid working from our head office in Embassy Gardens, London.
Reporting to the Low Code Product Manager and collaborating closely with other developers in the team, you’ll work to develop new and maintain business applications using Microsoft Power Platform (including Power Apps, Power Automate, Power Pages and CoPilot Studio), to drive efficiencies and innovation here at Penguin. As Power Platform Developer, you’ll support implementing best practices, contributing to platform governance and ensuring robust and user-centric solutions, taking ownership of solutions from concept through to adoption.

The role
Key responsibilities:
- Build, test, and deploy applications on the Microsoft Power Platform to solve business challenges and streamline processes.
- Work with stakeholders across the business, from publishing house colleagues to technology teams, to gather requirements, refine solution scope, and ensure successful delivery.
- Facilitate solution design discussions and guide stakeholders towards optimal approaches.
- Define and supply solution design standards and architectures to maintain consistency and quality across the platform, aligned with enterprise architecture.
- Implement and configure connectors and APIs to enable seamless data sharing and functionality across multiple business systems.
- Contribute to the creation and maintenance of components, and PCFs to foster scalable, consistent and efficient solution development.
- Participate in code and solution reviews to uphold coding standards, best practices, and overall solution integrity.
- Diagnose and fix application issues, escalating for complex or critical cases as needed.
- Keep abreast of new features in the Power Platform (e.g. Copilot Studio) and emerging industry trends to recommend and implement enhancements that drive value.
- Maintain clear documentation for solutions, integrations, and technical processes to support knowledge sharing and ongoing maintenance.
- Support compliance assessment processes for new app builds.
Handle upgrades, patches, and bug fixes to ensure stable and up-to-date applications.

What you’ll bring
Essential criteria
- Strong understanding of Microsoft Power Platform, including Power Apps, Power Automate (Flow), Power Pages, and CoPilot Studio.
- Experience of low-code/no-code development, building and deploying business applications, forms, and workflows.
- Excellent communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong experience with Microsoft Dataverse, with the ability to create and maintain data connections, manage APIs, and manipulate data sources.
- Good problem-solving skills, skilled in identifying technical issues, conducting root-cause analysis, and devising effective solutions.
- Understanding of governance and compliance, awareness of security, access control, and data protection standards in application development.
Experience with Power Platform ALM practices (solutions, environments, pipelines).

- Basic knowledge of coding fundamentals, familiarity with JavaScript, TypeScript, or other relevant programming languages.
Use of GitHub for deployment pipelines and repositories.

Salary
The salary for this opportunity is up to £60,000 depending on how your skills and experience align to the role, plus a generous bonus scheme and benefits.
Hybrid working
While our offices across the UK are places to connect, collaborate and celebrate with colleagues, we recognise that flexibility around where you work is just as important. For this role we expect that you will work from our head office in Embassy Gardens, London a minimum of 2 days per week (with additional days for team meetings, townhalls etc as required). Occasional travel to our warehouse site in Frating, Colchester as necessary.
