We are now looking for a Sales Estimator to join our Sales team at our Birmingham site.

About the Role

You will play a key role in supporting business growth by preparing accurate, competitive quotations for fire doors and timber-based products. Working closely with customers and internal teams, you will ensure all quotations are technically compliant, commercially viable, and aligned with customer requirements.

This is not just an estimating role. You'll actively engage with customers, follow up quotations, understand decision drivers, overcome objections, and help convert opportunities into sales. Your ability to combine technical accuracy with a proactive sales approach will be critical to increasing quote conversion rates and supporting the continued growth of the business.

This is a great opportunity for someone who combines strong commercial awareness with excellent attention to detail and enjoys building relationships with customers to help secure new business opportunities.

Key Responsibilities include:

Working to monthly and quarterly targets preparing detailed and accurate estimates and quotations for fire door and timber-based products.
Analyse drawings, specifications, schedules and bills of materials to determine accurate costs and pricing.
Proactively follow up quotations with customers to maximise conversion rates and secure new orders.
Build and maintain strong customer relationships, understanding their requirements and identifying opportunities to win business.
Negotiate and influence quotation outcomes while maintaining target margins.
Maintain an active pipeline of opportunities, keeping the company CRM system updated with accurate information and sales activity.
Work closely with customers to resolve queries, provide technical guidance and support purchasing decisions.
Carry out thorough checks on quotation information to ensure accuracy and prevent estimating errors.
Ensure all quoted products comply with relevant fire door certifications, test evidence and third-party accreditation requirements.
Verify door sizes, configurations and specifications to ensure compliance with certification limits and manufacturing capabilities.
Liaise with purchasing to obtain up-to-date material and supplier pricing.
Work closely with production, engineering and compliance teams to ensure products can be manufactured efficiently and compliantly.
Identify opportunities to improve margins and deliver cost-effective solutions without compromising quality, safety or compliance.
Review quotation performance, conversion rates and historical data to improve estimating accuracy and sales success.
Support the wider sales team with technical, compliance and pricing information.

About You

We’re looking for someone who combines technical accuracy with a natural sales instinct. You'll be comfortable producing detailed quotations while also proactively engaging customers, building relationships, and helping convert opportunities into orders. You'll ideally have:

Experience in estimating, internal sales, account management, or a similar commercial role.
Strong relationship-building and communication skills.
A customer-focused mindset with the confidence to follow up and close opportunities.
Strong numerical skills.
Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
Strong commercial awareness and a results-driven approach.
Experience working with technical products or specifications.
Knowledge of fire doors, timber products, manufacturing, construction, or compliance-led industries would be advantageous.
