We're looking for a hardworking and reliable Kitchen Porter to join our friendly kitchen team at The Fish Hotel.

Set across 500 acres of beautiful Cotswold countryside, The Fish is a laid-back luxury hotel unlike any other. With stylish rooms, treehouses, shepherds huts and woodland cabins, alongside our 2 AA Rosette restaurant, Hook, we're passionate about delivering exceptional experiences to every guest — and our Kitchen Porters play a vital role in making that happen.

As a Kitchen Porter, you'll be at the heart of the kitchen operation, supporting our chefs and helping maintain the high standards that keep our kitchen running efficiently.

Permanent Position:

40 hours per week over 5 days

Please note: evening and weekend work is part of the role.

What you'll be doing:

Keeping the kitchen, pot wash and back-of-house areas clean, organised and safe
Washing dishes, cookware, utensils and kitchen equipment
Supporting the chefs with basic food preparation when required
Receiving and storing deliveries
Ensuring all cleaning schedules and food hygiene standards are maintained
Assisting with waste management and recycling
Working as part of a close-knit team to ensure smooth kitchen operations

What we're looking for:

A positive attitude and strong work ethic
Someone who enjoys working as part of a team
The ability to work efficiently in a busy environment
Good attention to detail and high standards of cleanliness
Previous kitchen porter experience is helpful but not essential — full training will be provided
A willingness to learn and support the wider kitchen team

The details:

£13.45 per hour, rising to £13.65 after one year
Plus gratuities (typically adding approximately £2,000–£2,500 per year depending on hours worked)
Meals on duty and uniform provided
