LOCATION REQUIREMENT: Candidates MUST live within a 1-hour drive/commute of Leatherhead, Surrey (KT22) to allow for regular vehicle and stock collection. Applications from outside this radius will not be considered.

Job Summary

Are you an experienced Structured Cabling Engineer looking for an exciting new challenge? UCtel Ltd is a leading provider of in-building mobile signal boosting and cellular enhancement solutions. We are seeking a dedicated Cabling Engineer to join our team and play a pivotal role in deploying cutting-edge connectivity solutions for a diverse range of clients, from small businesses to large enterprises.

This is a permanent, full-time field position. While you will be based out of your home, this role requires daily UK-wide travel to customer sites (with a company van provided).

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Technical Director, your core duties will include:

Data & Network Cabling: Installing, routing, terminating, dressing, and testing Cat5e, Cat6, and Cat6A network cabling infrastructure.
Coaxial Cabling (Preferred): Expertly handling, terminating, and installing Coax cabling for cellular/RF boosting systems.
Containment & Hardware Installation: Fitting containment, trunking, traywork, patch panels, antennas, and radio units as required per project specifications.
Deployment Support: Assisting with site surveys, hardware configuration, and site sign-offs.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must demonstrate:

Proven Experience: Practical background in structured data cabling (Cat5e/Cat6/Cat6A termination and testing required; Coax experience preferred).
Location: Must reside within a 60-minute commute of Leatherhead, Surrey.
Driving Licence: Full UK Driving Licence (clean preferred; company van provided for business use).
Travel Flexibility: Willingness to travel nationwide (often at short notice) with occasional overnight stays, weekend, or out-of-hours work.
Working at Heights: Comfortable working in challenging physical environments, including on roofs, ladders, and high-level containment (ECS/CSCS, IPAF, or PASMA certifications are a plus).
Professional Demeanour: Excellent customer-facing skills and strong communication.

Pay: £30,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
