Principal Responsibilities:

This is an exciting opportunity to provide analytical support and insight to inform and influence operational, performance and preventative decision making linked to the Forces Public Protection profile, in particular tackling Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation

This police staff Performance and Insight role reports to the Performance and Insight Team Leader.

The role involves conducting analysis at a strategic, tactical and operational level to support and inform decisions making within Public Protection.

Some of the principal responsibilities of a police staff analysts' role include:

Conduct analysis at strategic, tactical and operational levels, working within local and national performance and prevention frameworks and working within legal data management handling requirements and legislation.
Provide analytical support in the preparation and production of strategic and tactical performance and prevention products used to support decision making and priority setting by senior officers and key stakeholders, informing decision making for the allocation of resources through operational policing boards, supporting the prioritisation of such resources to the highest risk and threat areas.
Lead in the development and creation of analytical dashboards to support business intelligence, evolving automated solutions and self-service provision where appropriate.
Proactively interrogate, interpret and analyse a wide range of data sources, applying appropriate analytical and statistical techniques, to provide strategic, tactical, operational and organisational insight, assessing the threat, risk and harm posed by changes in crime patterns and trends that are impacting organisational performance and prevention strategies ensuring that high risk issues are presented with guidance through the appropriate reporting structure to senior officers and internal / external key stakeholders, supporting the appropriate allocation of resources.
Identify and use appropriate specialist analytical tools and techniques to inform and produce analytical documents including written/visual and verbal briefings and presentations, providing insight, guidance and advice to senior officers and key stakeholders at internal and external meetings as required.
Provide appropriate, timely, relevant, and accurate analysis to support, influence and direct operational activity through performance and prevention management from identification of emerging trends through to post implementation analysis to support reflective practices and continued improvement.
