Job Description: Part Time Female Support Worker - 24 hour contract

Pay: £15.00 per hour

Refer a Friend Scheme - £250 awarded (T&C's apply)

We are currently recruiting a part time Female Support Workers to support a young individual to fulfil a full and active life and to help them access a full and varied programme of activities. This individual has been diagnosed with epilepsy and a learning disability and lives in the WIGTON area.

Role Description

We are committed to Equal opportunities. We currently have a great opportunity for dedicated Female Support Workers to work with an individual who has epilepsy and a learning disability support needs. The individual will be living on their own so we are looking for Support Workers who can provide 360 wrap around support that covers all aspects of their life throughout the day and night.

About me

I love the outdoors and like to walk my family pet.

I enjoy doing crafts, watching DVDs and playing board games.

I love gardening and taking photographs of wildlife and flowers.

When I am not at home I like to do different activities. I have my own car which the team can use to support this. I have a well-planned set of activities which I attend daily. I do like to try different things so I do swap them about from time to time.

I always have two team members with me when I'm out in the community. After my activity, I like to have a cup of tea or lunch in a local restaurant. Sometimes I'll take a packed lunch and have a drive out to different parts of Cumbria to enjoy the outdoors."

Have a good understanding of epilepsy and a learning disability and how this can impact daily living

Be prepared to motivate them in a supportive manner

Be patient and understanding encourage them on the difficult days

Have a fun and kind personality who will go on adventures

Work with them to solve issues and overcome day to day tasks

Come to work to “Get to know me” as that is what is needed to support them

Work as part of the team who deliver amazing person-centred care

Think outside the box

Be able to have a laugh and joke but have set standards and boundaries
