About Us:
Hatten Wyatt is a long-established and well-respected law firm with offices across Kent. We pride ourselves on delivering a professional, approachable and client-focused service, whilst maintaining a supportive and collaborative working environment for our staff.
About the Role:
We are looking for an experienced, well-rounded and proactive IT Manager to take ownership of the Firm’s IT function across all office locations.
This is a hands-on management role for an experienced IT professional who is confident working across the full IT environment and understands both the day-to-day user requirements and the underlying infrastructure and systems that support a modern professional services business.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the management, maintenance, security, performance and development of the Firm’s IT infrastructure, while also providing hands-on technical support where required.
The role requires someone who can look beyond individual IT issues and understand the wider picture - including servers, networks, Microsoft 365, SQL databases, cybersecurity, backups, systems integration, hardware, software, user access and third-party suppliers. You will take ownership of the Firm’s IT environment, identify potential issues before they become business-critical, recommend improvements and ensure that systems remain secure, reliable and fit for purpose.
As the Firm operates across multiple offices, the successful candidate will also be required to travel between locations from time to time to provide support, oversee infrastructure and complete IT projects.

- Take overall responsibility for the Firm’s IT infrastructure, systems and technology across all office locations.
- Manage and maintain servers, networks, Microsoft 365, hardware, cloud systems and SQL databases.
- Oversee the Firm’s case management system, Partner for Windows (Tikit), including configuration, access, updates and support.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, onboarding/offboarding and system access.
- Maintain effective cybersecurity, backups, disaster recovery and data protection processes.
- Identify and resolve technical issues, acting as the escalation point for complex IT problems.
- Lead IT projects, including system upgrades, migrations, infrastructure improvements and new technology implementation.
- Manage IT suppliers, software providers and external contractors.
- Ensure IT systems are secure, reliable, well maintained and fit for business needs.
- Provide technical guidance and support to staff and ensure consistent IT standards across all offices.
- Travel between the Firm’s offices when required.
Candidate Requirements
- Proven experience as an IT Manager, IT Infrastructure Manager, Senior IT Engineer or similar senior IT role.
- Strong, well-rounded knowledge of IT infrastructure, Microsoft 365, Windows, networks, servers, cloud systems and hardware.
- Strong SQL and database experience is essential.
- Experience managing cybersecurity, backups, disaster recovery and user access.
- Experience managing business-critical systems and working with external IT suppliers.
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving and project management skills.
- Proactive, organised and able to work independently while managing competing priorities.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain technical matters to non-technical users.
- A hands-on approach with the ability to manage the wider IT function while remaining technically involved.
- Previous legal-sector or professional services experience is desirable but not essential
- Willingness to travel between the Firm’s offices when required.
