Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant/Kitchen Porter to join our team. This role involves supporting food service operations by washing dishes and cleaning, as well as preparing and cooking meals in a professional environment. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop culinary skills and contribute to providing high-quality meals for our clients or customers.

Duties

Assist with food preparation, including chopping, peeling, and assembling ingredients
Cook and prepare meals according to specified recipes and standards
Ensure all food is prepared safely and in compliance with hygiene regulations
Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen area, including washing dishes, sanitising surfaces, and disposing of waste appropriately
Organise ingredients and supplies to ensure efficient workflow during meal service
Support with serving meals to customers or clients as required
Follow all health and safety procedures diligently to prevent accidents or contamination
Assist in stock control by monitoring inventory levels and notifying management of supplies needed

Qualifications

Previous experience in a kitchen environment is preferred but not essential
Knowledge of food preparation techniques and cooking methods
Understanding of food safety standards and hygiene practices
Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Good organisational skills and attention to detail
Excellent communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and tasks within the kitchen setting

Also, own transportation would be beneficial.
