Full job description

We are fortunate to be able to recruit a part-time position in a fast-paced medical office environment. If you are a motivated individual with excellent customer service skills, we encourage you to apply for this position.

We are recruiting for the following hours:

Monday 2.30pm - 6.30pm
Tuesday 2.30pm - 6.30pm
Wednesday 2.30pm - 6.30pm
Thursday 2.30pm - 6.30pm
Friday 2.30pm - 6.30pm

20 hours per week

Responsibilities

Greet and welcome patients and visitors in a friendly and professional manner
Answer phone calls, schedule appointments, and manage patient inquiries, providing appropriate care navigation
Maintain patient records and ensure accuracy and confidentiality
Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and organizing paperwork
Provide general office support to staff members
Effectively utilise the Practice computer system including SystmOne, Electronic Prescribing Service, electronic mail, and intranet to support patient care and communication

Experience:

Previous experience as a receptionist for 2+ years or in a similar role preferred
Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures is an advantage
Proficient in using Microsoft Word, Excel, and other office software
Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks
Able to work independently and within a team
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record keeping

Experience

Essential criteria

Experience of working with the general public

Able to use a computer

Desirable criteria

Experience of working in a health care setting / previous GP surgery
