About April

April is a women-run, members-only service that provides strictly platonic company for events — a considered plus-one for weddings, dinners, theatre and work functions, for people who'd genuinely like to go but not alone.

We're looking for Event Companions who are good company in thoughtful settings and can help an evening feel easy rather than daunting.

The role

- Attend pre-booked events in public venues only (restaurants, hotels, theatres, members' clubs) alongside vetted members.

- Be a calm, considerate presence beside them — talking, introducing, helping the room feel comfortable.

- Occasional evenings and weekends, fitted around your existing commitments.

This role is strictly platonic. There is no romantic, sexual or private-venue element. All bookings are arranged in advance, and we stay in contact with both sides throughout. You'll never be asked to meet in a private venue — every booking is in a public place and managed by April.

You might be a good fit if you:

- Enjoy meeting new people and can hold a thoughtful conversation.

- Are comfortable and considerate in smart settings (weddings, corporate dinners, theatre nights).

- Are reliable, discreet, and unflappable if plans change.

- Have experience in hospitality, events, professional services, or similar client-facing work.

We welcome applications from all genders and backgrounds. You'll need to be 25 or over and happy to verify ID and pass reference checks.

What we offer

- Paid per event, with travel and agreed expenses covered (rates discussed at interview).

- Flexible, occasional work — you choose which dates you're available.

- A small, hands-on team, with clear boundaries and full briefings before each booking.
