Full job description

Festive Shop Manager (Temp Role)

Our client, the Museum of East Dorset is recruiting an exciting role as Festive Shop Manager, this is a temporary role and we are looking for the successful candidate to start w/c 12 October with the role set to end early/mid January. You’ll work 21 hours per week across Monday to Saturday, and we are flexible with the hours/days. You will be leading our merry team and ensuring every customer leaves with a sprinkle of festive joy.

What You’ll Do

Oversee daily shop operations from open to close
Lead and motivate a small team to deliver exceptional customer service
Run the till, process transactions, and handle cash reconciliations
Manage back-office tasks, including scheduling and basic reporting
Receive, organise, and stock new deliveries
Place orders with suppliers to maintain a fully stocked wonderland
Design and execute eye-catching window displays and in-store merchandising

Who You Are

Experienced in retail or shop management, seasonal/pop-up experience a bonus
Highly organised with an eye for detail and festive flair
A natural leader with strong communication skills
Very comfortable using EPOS systems and basic inventory software particularly experience in adding new stock items and managing stock levels
Available Monday through Saturday, including peak holiday days
Ready to hit the ground running immediately
