JOB TITLE: Fermentation Operator Level 1

MANAGER: Fermentation Manager

We are looking for hardworking, reliable, and motivated individuals with manufacturing or production experience who are seeking a long-term career within a well-established, stable, and profitable business.

This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a specialist manufacturing operation where you will receive training and development while contributing to the production of high-quality fermentation products.

About the Role

As a Fermentation Operator Level 1, you will support all aspects of our fermentation and freeze-drying processes. You will be responsible for carrying out production activities safely and efficiently, accurately recording process data, and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the facility.

Key Responsibilities

Assist with the sterilisation and harvesting of fermentation processes.
Weigh and prepare raw materials for media mixes and cryopreservative additions.
Load and unload freeze dryers.
Grind and blend finished products.
Accurately record process and production data.
Clean and sanitise freeze dryers, process rooms, fermentation plant, and associated equipment.
Monitor and perform basic maintenance on dosing pumps, filters, refrigeration systems, and other process equipment.
Operate, monitor, and support the maintenance of steam boiler plant equipment.
Maintain high standards of housekeeping throughout production areas.
Participate in an out-of-hours call-out rota.
Ensure all work is completed in accordance with company procedures, ISO 9001 requirements, and health and safety standards.
Comply with company health, safety, environmental, and quality management systems.
Undertake any other duties reasonably required within the scope of the role.

About You

We are looking for someone who:

Has at least 1 year's manufacturing or production experience.
Is reliable, hardworking, and committed to maintaining high standards.
Has good attention to detail and can accurately complete production records.
Is comfortable working within established procedures and quality systems.
Can work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Wants to build a long-term career within a growing manufacturing business.
Holds GCSEs (or equivalent).
