The Sales Manager is responsible for driving revenue growth and expanding market share across the commercial kitchen fire suppression sector. This is a commercially focused role with responsibility for identifying and securing new business opportunities, developing existing customer relationships, and delivering sustainable sales growth across servicing, maintenance, remedial works, projects, and new system installations.
The role will support the continued growth of the business by developing strong relationships with customers operating within sectors such as hospitality, restaurant chains, education, healthcare, leisure, food production, and facilities management. The Sales Manager will proactively engage with prospective and existing customers, promoting innovative kitchen fire suppression solutions that enhance compliance, safety, and operational performance.
Combining technical understanding, commercial awareness, and strategic sales expertise, the Sales Manager will work closely with operational, engineering, project, and compliance teams to deliver customer-focused solutions, maximise revenue opportunities, and strengthen the company's position within the market.
Job Objectives & ResponsibilitiesSales & Business Development
Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve revenue and growth targets.
Identify, develop, and secure new business opportunities across target sectors.
Build and maintain a healthy sales pipeline through networking, referrals, lead generation, industry contacts, and market engagement.
Generate opportunities for maintenance contracts, compliance inspections, remedial works, system upgrades, new installations, and project works.
Prepare proposals, quotations, tenders, and presentations for prospective customers.
Lead commercial negotiations and support contract agreements.
Develop relationships with decision-makers across customer organisations to secure long-term partnerships.
Collaborate with marketing and operational teams to support business growth initiatives.
Attend industry events, exhibitions, and networking opportunities to promote the business and generate leads.
Customer Relationship Management
Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing customers to maximise retention and identify growth opportunities.
Conduct customer meetings and site visits to understand operational challenges and compliance requirements.
Ensure customers receive exceptional service throughout the sales and project lifecycle.
Identify opportunities to introduce additional services and solutions across customer locations.
Work closely with operational teams to ensure customer expectations are met and exceeded.
Act as a trusted advisor on kitchen fire suppression compliance and best practice.
Commercial & Financial Accountability
Deliver against agreed sales and gross margin targets.
Manage and maintain accurate sales forecasts and pipeline reporting.
Monitor sales performance and identify opportunities to improve profitability.
Support pricing strategies and commercial decision-making.
Produce regular sales reports and market analysis for senior leadership.
Drive growth across recurring service revenue, remedial works, projects, and new installations.

Work collaboratively with Operations, Engineering, Projects, and Compliance teams to ensure smooth delivery of customer commitments.
Ensure proposed solutions align with industry standards, legislation, and customer requirements.
Support the successful mobilisation and handover of new contracts and projects.
Promote best practice and compliance across all customer interactions.
Maintain a strong understanding of fire safety legislation, insurance requirements, and industry standards relating to commercial kitchen protection systems.

Support and mentor less experienced members of the commercial team where appropriate.

Person Specification Essential
Proven track record in sales, business development, or commercial account growth.
Previous experience within the Fire Protection, Kitchen Fire Suppression, Fire Safety, Building Services, or related industry.
Demonstrated success in achieving and exceeding sales targets.
Strong business development, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
Ability to identify, qualify, and convert sales opportunities.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Commercially aware with strong financial and business acumen.
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage a varied sales pipeline.
Experience working collaboratively with operational and technical teams.
Desirable
Knowledge of Ansul, Piranha, or alternative commercial kitchen fire suppression systems.
Experience selling maintenance contracts, compliance services, or fire protection solutions.
Experience working within hospitality, healthcare, education, leisure, retail, or facilities management sectors.
FIA or other relevant industry qualifications.
Understanding of fire safety legislation and industry compliance requirements.
