Full job description

Position: Vehicle Technician

Location: Caledonia Depot, 100 Cathcart Road, G42 7BH

Contracted Hours: 38 per week (full time & permanent + overtime available)

Working Hours: Dayshift and Nightshift available - can be discussed at screening

Pay Rate: £20.50 per hour dayshift and £22.91 per hour nightshift

About the Role - *£2000 NEW RECRUIT JOINING BONUS!!!

We are now looking for an NVQ/SVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) qualified Vehicle Technician for our First Bus Glasgow Caledonia Depot – we would love to hear from qualified candidates with great electrical knowledge and any ex-Forces personnel with an engineering apprenticeship qualification, and experienced engineers from other sectors looking for a change.

We offer technical up-skilling and career progression; your PPE is provided as well as a competitive hourly rate and great rewards & benefits (see below).

Key Responsibilities:

Diagnose and carry out vehicle electrical repairs, servicing, and parts replacement
Diagnose vehicle electrical faults and specify the correct method of repair and parts to be used
Carry out vehicle road testing where necessary to identify specific vehicle defects or following remedial repair
To fully comply with all HSE legislation along with Group Policies
To fully comply with all relevant Standard Operating Procedures
Maintain and develop technical skills as required

About You

Do you have a minimum Level 3 NVQ/SVQ (or equivalent) qualification in vehicle maintenance and repair?
Ability to multi-skill within an Engineering Environment with preferably electrically biased experience
Do you have a valid UK driving license? A PCV licence is desirable, however we can help you achieve this
