Full job description

Purpose and objectives of the role

To work alongside our PCB team to develop and foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, collaboration, and high performance.
Ensure all products meet customer, regulatory and company quality requirements through effective process control, monitoring and continuous improvement.
To drive continuous improvement through the optimisation, control and development of manufacturing processes, enabling the business to improve productivity, reduce waste, enhance customer satisfaction and maintain a competitive advantage.
To provide technical expertise and leadership in process engineering activities, ensuring robust process control, compliance with quality and health and safety requirements, and the successful introduction of new technologies and improvements.

Main duties and responsibilities

Control, monitor and continuously improve manufacturing processes to achieve quality, delivery, productivity and cost objectives.
Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean and structured problem-solving techniques to improve yield, efficiency, process capability and reduce waste, rework and manufacturing costs.
Provide technical support to manufacturing operations by identifying, investigating and resolving process issues in a timely manner.
Maintain effective process controls, documentation, operating procedures and work instructions in accordance with quality requirements.
Define and communicate manufacturing capabilities and capacities and support the introduction of new products, technologies and production methods.
Support customers, audits and technical reviews while ensuring compliance with quality, health and safety requirements.
Mentor engineers, technicians, operators and apprentices to develop technical competence and continuous improvement capability.
Monitor and control process-related costs, identifying and implementing opportunities to reduce waste, scrap and operational expenditure whilst maintaining quality standards
Support prototype manufacture, new product introduction and implementation of new technologies and manufacturing methods.
Support the Division's Apprenticeship programme by mentoring and encouraging the ongoing learning of the company’s Apprentices.
Promote and maintain a safe working environment by ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation, company procedures and housekeeping standards.
Maintain time and attendance to company standards.

Qualifications

Degree Qualified.

Skills

Strong negotiation and persuasion skills

Good Communication skills
Effective listening and questioning skills
Familiarity with Microsoft Office and other IT programs

Experience

Working Hours

37.5hrs, Monday-Friday
9am-5pm work pattern
