About The Organisation

NHS Lanarkshire is comprised of Acute Services (which currently provide hospital based services over 3 main sites), Corporate & Property & Support Services, North and South Lanarkshire Health and Social Care Partnerships which provide integrated primary healthcare and social care services to local communities and surrounding areas.

The Role

Project within the Lanarkshire Weight Management Service (LWMS). The project is designed to address lengthy presurgical waiting lists for identified patient groups.

Please note this is a fixed term post for 12 months. Where a post only has temporary funding and an existing member of NHS Lanarkshire staff wishes to apply, this will be treated as a secondment. The employee MUST already have written agreement from their line manager to be released on a secondment before applying for the post.

In this key role, you will:

Provide a high quality secretarial and administrative service for the Consultant/Associate Specialist, Nurse Specialist Teams, PAM Practitioner to ensure efficiency in patient care.
Responsible for the audiotyping (touch-typing, shorthand typing) of clinical correspondence, ensuring these are typed within agreed timescales.
Responsible for maintaining a pending system for all results and ensuring these are seen by the appropriate consultants.
Deal with telephone and face to face inquiries from all staff groups, patients, relatives, carers, providing information, directing and prioritising queries as appropriate, to ensure efficiency and effectiveness of service delivery.

What You'll Bring:

HNC/SVQ lll in Secretarial Studies/Business Administration or equivalent experience.
Understanding of a range of work procedures, some of which are non routine requiring an intermediate level of theoretical knowledge.
Knowledge of the range of secretarial procedures which includes advanced keyboard skills.
Proficient in use of software systems.
