Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate, hands-on Osteopath to join our friendly, multilingual clinical team at J&J Therapy — a manual therapy–focused MSK clinic in the heart of New Malden, just 2 minutes' walk from New Malden station, rated 5 stars across 350+ Google reviews, with direct contracts with 7 major UK private medical insurers (Bupa, AXA Health, Aviva, Vitality, Allianz, WPA and Cigna). We are introducing osteopathy as a core part of the clinic, and this role offers a rare opportunity to build that service with us.
This is a structural, MSK-focused role. You will work alongside our HCPC-registered physiotherapists and Level 5 (MSMA) soft tissue practitioners, with your own diagnostic caseload — every session built around skilled, hands-on treatment (articulation, soft tissue work, HVLA where appropriate) rather than exercise-only care.
Your weekly diary will combine osteopathy consultations with massage treatment sessions, and you will use your clinical judgement across both: if a patient books a massage but you identify that they would benefit from therapeutic treatment, you can explain this and, with the patient's agreement, proceed as an osteopathy session — and where simple relaxation is what they need, you deliver a great massage session. An osteopath who genuinely enjoys hands-on soft tissue work will feel very much at home here.
The Role
- Salary: £27,000 – £48,000 per year, depending on experience, qualifications and hands-on competency — this range spans newly qualified through to senior level
- Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week — approximately 33 hours of clinical (patient-facing) time plus around 7 hours for treatment notes and room turnaround
- Schedule: Thursday to Monday, with Tuesday & Wednesday off together — Thursday & Sunday 10:00am–7:00pm, Friday, Saturday & Monday 9:00am–6:00pm, with a 1-hour lunch break (12:30pm–1:30pm)
- Varied session lengths: appointments run from 30 to 90 minutes depending on the treatment — no rushing through 15-minute slots
- Pure basic salary — no percentage splits, no room rent, no commission. Your income is guaranteed every month, regardless of bookings, and unbooked time is still paid
- Clinical autonomy: manage your own caseload and treatment approaches, with support from our clinic director and senior physiotherapist

A Quick Note on How Our Pay Compares
Most osteopaths work self-employed on a 40–60% split, so a fair comparison is what you keep, not the headline figure. Our salary already includes:
- Every gap between bookings is paid — you are never unpaid for an empty slot
- 33 days of paid holiday, workplace pension, and sick pay
- No self-employment costs: no room rent, no insurance-billing admin, no accountancy, no unpaid admin time

Key Responsibilities
- Deliver osteopathy consultations and treatments (initial consultations and follow-ups) as part of a clinical MSK team
- Deliver massage treatment sessions as part of your combined weekly diary, alongside your osteopathy appointments
- Use your clinical judgement to guide patients to the right session type — explaining and, with their agreement, moving a massage booking to an osteopathy session where therapeutic treatment is needed, or delivering a relaxation-focused massage where that is what the patient needs
- Collaborate with our physiotherapists on patients' treatment goals, including cross-referral
- Maintain accurate, timely SOAP-format clinical records in line with GOsC standards (time for notes is built into your schedule)
- Support accurate insurance billing through Healthcode
- Serve a diverse, multilingual patient community
Requirements (Essential)
- Current registration with the General Osteopathic Council (GOsC)
- Current professional indemnity insurance at the level required by the GOsC (minimum £5 million — e.g. via the Institute of Osteopathy scheme or an equivalent provider)
- The right to work in the UK
- A structural, hands-on approach to practice, and willingness to deliver massage sessions alongside osteopathy
- Excellent communication and a compassionate, patient-centred approach
Desirable
- Massage or sports massage qualifications at Level 4 or above (Ofqual-regulated, e.g. ITEC/VTCT/Active IQ/YMCA)
- Current membership of a massage professional association (e.g. CNHC, FHT, SMA, CThA, ISRM)
- Membership of the Institute of Osteopathy (iO)
- Experience writing electronic treatment notes using practice-management software — experience with Cliniko, which we use in clinic, would be a particular advantage
- Dry needling / medical acupuncture training
- Previous experience in a multidisciplinary or MSK clinic setting
- Experience with private medical insurance billing
- Korean, Mandarin or Cantonese are especially valuable, and any additional language alongside English is an advantage (given our multicultural patient base)
