Boarhunt Garage and Recovery Services Ltd is a well-established breakdown, recovery and transport company based in Fareham, Hampshire. We provide 24-hour assistance for motoring organisations, the Police and National Highways. We also transport plant machinery, forklifts and equipment for local companies.
The Role
We are looking for an HGV Class 1 (C+E) Driver to join our Heavy Recovery team.
The role involves recovering and transporting a wide range of vehicles, including commercial vehicles. You will be working with motoring organisations, the Police and highways authorities to provide roadside assistance and vehicle recovery.
This is a customer-facing role, so good communication skills and a professional approach are essential.
Experience in recovery is preferred but not essential, as full industry training will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Recover and transport broken down or accident-damaged vehicles
- Provide roadside assistance where required
- Work closely with motoring organisations, Police and highways authorities
- Deliver excellent customer service at the roadside
- Ensure all vehicles and equipment are operated safely
Requirements
- HGV Class 1 Licence (C+E)
- Driver CPC
- Digital Tachograph Card
- Ability to pass Police Vetting
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Willingness to work in all weather conditions
Experience (Preferred)
- Previous HGV driving experience
- Recovery or roadside assistance experience
- Knowledge of commercial vehicles
- ADR licence (advantage but not essential)
Alternatively, a 4 on / 4 off shift pattern may be available for the right candidate.
