Photography Department – Ross’s Auctioneers & Valuers (Belfast City Centre)

Job Description:

Ross’s, a well-established Belfast city centre firm of Auctioneers & Valuers, holds monthly Jewellery, Fine Art and Antique auctions, shipping to clients worldwide.

Due to continued growth and high demand within our Photography Department, We are seeking a dynamic and creative Photography & Content Specialist to join our team.

This is a creative and dynamic role, with full training provided.

This role involves capturing high-quality images and managing visual content. The ideal candidate will possess strong organisational skills, a keen eye for detail, and proficiency in digital editing tools. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in both photography and digital marketing within a collaborative environment.

The start date for this role will be as soon as possible.

The Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

Photographing Jewellery, Fine Art and Antiques to a high professional standard
Producing creative advertising images across all three departments
Supporting the visual presentation of auction catalogues and digital platforms

This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain valuable insight and hands-on experience across all aspects of a busy auction department.

Responsibilities

Conduct professional photography sessions to produce compelling visual content aligned with brand standards
Each month, as a team, we photograph around 2000 pieces for our monthly auctions
Edit and enhance images using Adobe Photoshop & Lightroom to ensure high-quality output for various platforms
Coordinate with the management team on project timelines, deliverables, and creative direction

Skills

Strong management and organisational skills with the ability to handle multiple projects efficiently
Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and Lightroom.
Excellent communication skills in English
Experience in project management and team collaboration
Excellent time management skills
IT proficiency across various platforms
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment

Essential Criteria

Proficiency in the Adobe Creative Suite is essential
A University Degree - preferably in the creative sector
Excellent time management skills, with the ability to work efficiently and prioritise workload in a fast-paced environment
Excellent organisational skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
A willingness to learn and support colleagues
Self-motivated with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team

Working Hours & Location

Please note this position is fully on-site in Belfast city centre, Monday to Friday, 9.00am – 5.15pm.
