The Kingswood Urban Development (KUD) Project is looking for a passionate Youth Engagement & Sport Coordinator to join our team and help create positive opportunities for young people across the Kingswood Estate in Corby.
This is an exciting opportunity to make a genuine difference within a community where your work will have a lasting impact. You will engage and support young people aged 12 - 19 (up to 25 with SEND), using sport, physical activity and youth led initiatives to build confidence, develop leadership skills and inspire positive aspirations.
Working alongside local residents, schools and partner organisations, you will build trusted relationships with young people, coordinate engaging activities and establish a Youth Steering Group to ensure young people's voices shape the future of the project. You will also help create pathways into volunteering, education, employment and wider community opportunities, contributing to the continued success of this National Lottery Funded Programme.
Duties
As our Youth Engagement & Sport coordinator, you will:
- Build positive, trusted relationships with young people across the Kingswood community.
- Engage teenagers who may be inactive, socially isolated or facing barriers to participation through outreach and community engagement.
- Establish and facilitate the KUD Youth Steering Group, empowering young people to influence activities and decisions within their community.
- Plan, coordinate and support the delivery of sport, physical activity and personal development programmes, including evening, weekend and holiday provision.
- Recruit, mentor and develop young volunteers and peer leaders.
- Work collaboratively with schools, community organisations and partner agencies to create positive opportunities for young people.
- Monitor participation, gather feedback and contribute to project evaluation and reporting.
- Ensure all activities are delivered safely, inclusively and in line with safeguarding and organisational policies.
Experience
Essential
- Experience working with young people aged 13–19.
- Experience delivering youth, sport or community-based activities.
- Ability to build positive relationships with young people, families and local communities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to work independently.
- Understanding of safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusion.
- A genuine passion for improving opportunities for young people.
Desirable
- Experience working with young people with SEND.
- Experience facilitating youth voice or participation groups.
- Experience supporting volunteers or young leaders.
- A qualification in Youth Work, Community Development, Sports Development or a related field.
- Emergency First Aid and Safeguarding qualifications.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Knowledge or experience of working within communities experiencing disadvantage.
Part Time 20hrs/wk £13,758 pa (FTE - £26,512.00)
