Job Title: General Manager - Fitness
Location: Southwest London (travel expected)
About the role:
You'll be operating in a prestigious corporate environment, within a large Broadcasting Company based in London, where employee wellbeing is a key part of daily life. This crucial role is suitable for an leisure industry experienced manager who will be responsible for the day to day management of wellbeing services & facilities located onsite and across the estate. They will need to be confident, outgoing and capable of promoting the services to employees and relevant stakeholders. They will work closely the Account Manager as part of a highly energised team, who will be responsible for maintaining H&S standards, managing the team, delivery of a collaborative wellbeing programme and assist with the innovation of new services whilst maintaining consistent customer service levels.
The offering includes numerous Active Spaces, salons, wellbeing communities, Sports Park, Bike Shop amongst other onsite services and is a Monday to Friday onsite role.
The role has a strong operational side to it and therefore the successful candidate should be willing and able to complete various tasks on a daily basis. They will also have exemplary member service skills and increase user satisfaction and Active Space safety by ensuring that the facilities are maintained to a high standard.
Your responsibilities:
Design, implement, and evaluate diverse wellbeing programs for the whole workforce, promoting participation through effective marketing strategies and identifying areas of growth.
Oversee the maintenance, operation, and scheduling of onsite wellbeing facilities across the estate, managing teams and stakeholders both face-to-face and remotely for maximum utilisation.
Recruit, train, and manage a multidisciplinary team across all facilities.
Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction by addressing feedback promptly, building strong relationships with participants and stakeholders, and presenting strategies to enhance customer experience to senior management.
Prepare, manage, and present budgets and commercial performance, monitoring expenditure to ensure financial sustainability.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, developing and implementing safety protocols and emergency procedures.
Build and maintain partnerships with local organisations, schools, and community groups.
Promote employee engagement in wellbeing activities through company forums and groups, organising events and collaborative initiatives across the business.
What you’ll bring:
Bachelor's degree in Sports Management, Physical Education, Health and Wellness, or a related field, along with relevant professional certifications (e.g., fitness instructor, personal trainer) and a health and safety qualification such as NEBOSH or IOSH.
Minimum of 2+ years' experience in sports and wellbeing management, ideally within Health Club Management, Corporate Wellbeing, or multi-site operations; leisure industry background preferred, though significant operational management experience from other customer-facing industries will be considered.
Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to lead teams, and a self-motivated, proactive approach to organisation and decision-making.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to engage and motivate diverse audiences and build strong relationships with key stakeholders.
Creative and innovative approach to developing fitness and wellbeing programs.
Commitment to exceptional customer service and building positive relationships with participants and stakeholders.
Strong financial acumen, including budget management, financial planning, and reporting.
Sound understanding of health and safety regulations and best practices.
